Treatment That Fits Your Life

At Dillehay Orthodontics, you can skip the braces with clear aligners.

Consider 3M™ Clarity™ Aligners or our Simply Clear in-house aligner system to give you the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted.

The Clear Aligner Process

3M Clarity Aligners have several unique options to meet your smile needs. Each removable tray is custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth to apply constant, gentle pressure that guides your teeth into straighter positions.

First, we'll take photos and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We send this information to the 3M Clarity Aligner laboratory, where they’ll create your aligners.

Once your aligners come in, you’ll start your smile transformation process! You’ll probably wear your aligners for 9 to 15 months and typically use 18 to 30 sets during your treatment.

You wear the trays for about 22 hours a day but can remove them for brushing your teeth and eating. You’ll wear several sets of trays based on your individual needs throughout your orthodontic treatment with Dr. Dillehay, but you’ll start to notice a change in just a few months!

Perfect Your Smile With Simply Clear

Simply Clear aligners from Dillehay Orthodontics are a great way to perfect your smile. If you’ve lost or forgotten to wear your retainer and notice your teeth shifting, these aligners can give you back your smile!

At Dillehay Orthodontics, we invest in technology to ensure you have access to high-quality care for your smile. Simply Clear aligners are an affordable way to correct minor alignment issues without waiting for aligners from a third-party lab.

Differences Between Clear Aligners and Braces

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic 3M Clarity and Simply Clear aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth.

Because you can remove them any time, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces—bring on the popcorn and peanuts.

In fact, you must remove your clear aligners if you eat or drink anything besides water. Be sure you’re willing to do that before you decide on clear aligners at Dillehay Orthodontics. To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat.

Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires.

Clear Aligner Responsibility

It’s crucial to wear your clear aligners for at least 22 hours each day, so your teeth have a chance to straighten. But, with 3M Clarity or Simply Clear aligners, you can remove your trays for special occasions.

Like with traditional braces, you’ll generally need to wear a retainer after clear aligner treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.

Dr. Dillehay might not clear aligners for complex alignment or bite issues or if you have bridgework. Dr. Ken Dillehay or Dr. JK Dillehay will talk you through the best options for you and your lifestyle.
